The tarot card for today is the Five of Wands. This is a card traditionally associated with trouble, but is there more to it than meets the eye, when combined with today's Moon-Pluto square?

In the Rider Waite deck, the Five of Wands depicts a group of men quarreling and fighting with their staves. The generally accepted interpretation of this card is that conflict is on the way, tempers flare and aggression comes to the fore. This would fit well with today's Aries Moon, which can be a rather aggressive, impulsive kind of energy.

However, today's Moon squares Pluto. Pluto is a great teacher, and a revolutionary, and he shows us how to view things through a different lens. No stranger to conflict, Pluto nonetheless demands a closer look at this card. Only one of the men on the card has an angry or aggressive face; one looks quite enthusiastic, another looks upwards at the staves, concerned. The fourth man's expression is ambiguous, and we cannot see the face of the fifth. Are we sure they're fighting? What if they're working on some building project with those staves, and just can't get them quite right?

As the Moon squares Pluto, it's easy to allow ourselves to fall into conflict. It's super-easy too to misread the intentions of others and to think the worst. However, today's astrological aspects suggest that if we go with the Moon-Pluto square, we will be making a big mistake. Have a think about some alternative, more positive interpretations of the Five of Wands, and choose to implement one of those instead.
