The tarot card for today is the Hierophant, which is a fascinating card when considered against today's tumultuous aspects - notably the Jupiter-Pluto opposition.

The Hierophant in its traditional sense represents religious authority, which is interesting because Jupiter can also represent religion from an astrological point of view.

In today's Jupiter-Pluto opposition, we see a tense stand off between religious extremism (Jupiter takes everything to extremes) and Pluto, the destroyer of illusions and the bringer of truth. On a geo-political level, this could lead to some tensions on the world stage, ahead of the coming grand cross.

On a personal level, what we have here is a sense that there's too much of a good thing going on spiritually. We're easily taken in by gurus and charlatans now, and the latest fads and buzz words in spirituality are taking on too much power. With the Jupiter-Pluto opposition there's a plea to get back to the basics of your chosen spiritual path.

Today, if we follow the wisdom of the Hierophant card, we should not be afraid to speak of the Emperor's new clothes. Be the person who stands up against the crowd to speak the truth. You may be shouted down, or even tried for some kind of metaphysical heresy, but you'll be speaking the truth of the silent majority, and someone, somewhere, will thank you for it.
