The tarot card for today is Temperance. This lovely card has a great deal to share with us, and is particularly relevant to today's Mercury-Neptune opposition.

In the Rider Waite tarot deck, Temperance depicts an angelic figure, standing with one foot in a pool and one foot on solid ground. He or she pours water from one cup to another, while a path leads from the pond to a shining light in the distant mountains.

By and large, the Temperance card shows up when we need patience and a calm appraisal of the situation. However, the symbolism on this card has a lot in common with the Mercury-Neptune opposition. Under this opposition, logic battles intuition and confusion, or air battles water. The Temperance angel tries to balance both, with one foot in each world and the careful pouring of the water (balanced emotions). We can see from this card that if we can remain calm and work on balance, we too can take the path which leads to enlightenment.

The message from today's tarot card is not to panic when we feel confused. Clarity can still be found, and so can feeling, it's just a matter of waiting and watching. Keep pouring the water, and illumination will come.
