The tarot card for today is the Five of Cups. This can be quite a sorrowful card, but its energies are very much in keeping with today's Venus-Pluto opposition.

In the Rider Waite tarot deck, the Five of Cups depicts a cloaked man, looking down sadly at three fallen cups. This card traditionally shows up when there is a feeling of disappointment or betrayal, which is also a common theme when Venus opposes Pluto.

These astrological energies are particularly pertinent to a relationship or a financial situation; those who have put their trust in others may today find themselves on the wrong end of a power game gone horribly wrong.

However, all is not lost. In the Five of Cups card, we can see that two cups remain standing, behind the forlorn looking man. Perhaps he hasn't seen them yet. There is still hope. In front of him, a fast flowing river seems uncrossable - but there's a bridge in the distance where he can cross with ease.

The same is true of the Venus-Pluto opposition. Our emotions are turbulent at this time, but we're not seeing the whole picture. We too can cross the bridge in the future; the only thing holding us back is our temporary despair.
