The tarot card for today is the Nine of Swords - quite a depressing looking card, but does it fit in with today's astrological energies, and the Mercury-Mars opposition?

The young man or woman depicted on the Nine of Swords card clearly isn't sleeping too well - and many of us will have had some restless nights with recent potent astrological energies too. Where this card really ties in with the aspects, however, is with the Mercury-Mars opposition.

The figure in the card is in emotional turmoil; those affected by the Mercury-Mars opposition are likely to know the feeling well. Mercury, in go ahead Aries, has all the answers, while Mars, in indecisive, sell all sides Libra is unusually reticent just now. The result is a real dilemma of the head versus the heart for many of us, and at times this may seem completely unresolvable.

The fact that we have a deep thinking Scorpio Moon at the moment doesn't help matters, because Scorpio does deep emotion as well as deep thought, and also can't choose between the Mercury option or the Mars option.

If we look closely at the bedspread depicted in the Nine of Swords, perhaps we can find an answer. On the bedspread, every sign of the zodiac is represented, indicating that anything is possible. The key to handling this oppressive and unsettling influence is to just make a decision. Any decision. Any choice. It doesn't really matter which way you decide to go, in the end, but make that choice. Once you've done that, the weight will begin to lift. Stop torturing yourself by refusing to choose.
