Daily Tarot

For Monday, April 14th, 2014

Today's tarot card is The Tower - quite a contrast to the Ten of Cups yesterday! The Tower is a fitting card to represent Pluto turning retrograde today, and the tense astrological energies of the Moon-Uranus opposition, Moon-Pluto square, Moon-Mars conjunction and Mercury-Uranus conjunction.

The Tower can be one of the most feared tarot cards of all, depicting as it does in the Rider Waite deck people falling from a burning, lightning struck tower. It's fairly clear that whatever this card refers to, it's not going to be a comfy experience. There's an element of catastrophe about it, or at the very least a dramatic upheaval of some kind.

This is highly likely given the day's volatile astrological energies. Of course, not everyone will experience a crisis today, but the general vibe is of tension, ill ease and unpleasant anticipation. It's very easy to think the worst, and to wait in dread.

The Tower, of course, like every tarot card, is not all negative. It heralds disruption, yes, but necessary disruption. What the Tower tears down will clear the way for something new to be built. It does represent an ending of some kind, but all endings are also new beginnings. The challenge under today's very heavy astrological energies is to recognize the positive and to not be too caught up in the negative.
